Hey guys, “Red” Barron here! So on July 22nd, “Big Mike” and I decided it was time for a much needed getaway to Lake Houston, and what better time to go fishing than on the weekend of Big Mike’s birthday!
As an early birthday present, Mike got a new GitUp Git 2 action camera (the same as Red Barron’s), so now we can get awesome angles with the same awesome Givin’er action!
We set out and settle on a railroad crossing to start the day off and the fight is on for me
to have a record setting hangup count! Hangup after hangup after hangup! But, it’s okay, I’ve got quite a bit of experience in this area and am able to get back some lures, only loosing a couple. It’s funny how you don’t remember to buy a lure knocker until you’re on the lake and hung up beyond recovery!
Big Mike has the first hit, but doesn’t sink the hooks in. It’s a beautiful day, but the weather is HOT like a normal mid-summer Houston day!
I grabbed one at this dock while skipping a senko, but the hook was a bit too heavy for the spinning gear I was using. Usually, we grab more than just
sunburns from lake Houston, but today, the fish were tucked deep in the shade trying to keep cool. That didn’t keep Big Mike and Red Barron from enjoying the time away, swinging some baits, enjoying God’s creation, and celebrating Big Mike’s birthday!
