Just Givin’er – The Story

We get asked all the time, “What is just givin’er?” “Where did you come up with that name?” and “Why did you leave black tire marks all down the street?”  Well, we’re about to answer all but the last one of those questions.

The Origin

Big Mike’s wife and her family are from Canada.  They have a saying in Canada when you’re giving it all you’ve got or going all out, they say you’re just givin’er.  After Red Barron and Big Mike saw a couple of YouTube videos highlighting the importance of the Canadian vocabulary, “Just givin’er” became common use and the punchline for endless jokes.

The Idea

One day while Red Barron and Big Mike were out fishing at Lake Conroe, after making a move to a new spot, the words that came out of Big Mike’s mouth started it all.  Mike said, “Man, Rob, you were going to givin-er dot come there coming across the lake.”  Several months and too much wasted brainpower later, Red Barron, Big Mike, and their spouses were enjoying a mild evening on their back porches when Red Barron said, “You know, Mike, I looked and the domain givin-er dot com is available for purchase.”  Their spouses just shook their heads…

The Execution

Soon, the YouTube channel, Givin’er Adventures, was born.  Soon to follow, the website, givin-er.com, and the Facebook page, Just Givin’er, was added too.  Red Barron’s wife, with her fancy crap cutter and software started what would eventually become the Just Givin’er logo.  The love that Red Barron, Big Mike, and Low Man Mario shared for fishing, and the adventures that would ensue, could finally be shared with the rest of the world!
