Hey guys, Red Barron here! It was a hot day, and I was tied to the house, but I still had the itch to fish. So I decided what better time to share the techniques I learned when I was younger, and in a similar setting! For your viewing pleasure, we divided these techniques into a 2-part series!

Two techniques that prove to be invaluable when fish are close into structure are pitching and flipping. These methods have been around for quite some time, and provide a means to prevent getting hung up in or around structure, while precisely controlling lure location.

Technique #1 – Flipping
Flipping has been around for a long time, but isn’t necessarily utilized as commonly as it used to be. It is invaluable in close quarters as it provides a means to accurately control the location, fall rate, and the splash, while keeping your rod tip out of the bushes. Follow along below to learn more about flipping!
Technique #2 – Pitching
Pitching is a great technique that is very useful when you are too far for flipping, but still want to accurately control the location and splash of the lure, while keeping your rod more controlled. Follow along below to learn more about pitching!
The wonderful thing about these techniques is that you don’t need to spend money to perfect them. If you have the basic equipment, you can learn and perfect techniques without the worries associated with getting to the lake or on the water! We’ll see you guys next time on the water! Remember, you’re not livin’ unless you’re Just Givin’er!!
