Fishing the Trinity River with Papa Bruce & Joe!

Hey guys, Red Barron here!  With the wife’s side of the family visiting for Christmas, what better time to get away with the guys than on a fishing trip!  If you guys have seen our video on tying the palomar knot (click here), then you’ve already met Papa Bruce

In fact, I might as well admit that our house was invaded by Michiganders (natives of Michigan) over the holidays.  Naturally, I felt it was my civic duty, better yet, my obligation as a human being, to treat these northerners to some sunlight! Especially since there is so little of it in the winter up north!

When it came to location, we typically go to Lake Houston or Lake Conroe, but I had to pull out all of the stops and take our chances on the Trinity River.  We drove out to the Wallisville lake area at the Trinity River Island Recreation Area south of I-10.

Joe is the nephew.  This kid has some wicked athletic abilities!  He can pick up just about anything!  He can cast a mile and his excitement is evident.

We get there and it is still nice and cool…I mean, cold.  Not so much for the northerners, but cold for us Texans.  After launching the boat and adding in some shenanigans, we are off in unknown territories.122417 Trinity River RB BT JT jt fish

After settling in just below the Lake Anahuac dam, we start swinging some lures and having real fun!

Follow along below to find out all of the memories we made on this trip!  We’ll see you guys next time on the water!  Remember, you’re not livin’ unless you’re Just Givin’er!
